A Shocker on Shock Street

Goosebumps #35

by R.L. Stine

Twelve-year-olds, Erin and Marty, are huge fans of the Shock Street franchise, but when they're asked to test ride an automated tour of the set, the scares turn out to be a little too real.

Whew, this is a wild one. Top-tier Goosebumps, in my opinion (many will disagree but I don't really give a shit).

Gotta be my favorite of the re-reads so far. I know for sure I read it as a kid (the cover is very distinct), but as soon as I started reading it, I realized I remembered NOTHING about it. Starting on page 17, I had two theories about how it would end, and was pleasantly surprised when the last few chapters pulled a little bait-and-switch on me. Beyond that; fantastic descriptions, eerie atmosphere, non-stop action, and plenty of creative monsters to keep things interesting.

But MAN, I would love to punch that Marty kid in the face.
